Arum Lily or (Zantedeschia aethiopica (L.) Spreng)

Arum Lilies

Arum Lilies grow like weeds here in New Zealand.  I would have 5-6 very large plants in my garden.  My mother's name was Lily and she hated it.  I really don't know why as today it's very trendy.

I was always brought up that Lilies were a sign of death and were only used at funerals and were on coffins. Nowadays brides have them at their weddings or in their bouquets.   I've always loved them as they are so elegant.

So if you're ever driving around the countryside here in New Zealand you'll see lilies growing in drains and damp areas.  Especially in older towns or established homes, you'll see lilies.

Remember they are highly poisonous to animals and humans as well.  So please don't ingest them.

This month over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 we have two new sketches.

Sketch # 249

Here's a quick peek at the inside of my card.  This isn't a hard card to make but you do have to get the triangles the same size.

Remember to have a look at what the rest of the design team created over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 as well as our guest designer Ger Janne.
