Congratulations " It A Boy" Sweet Sketch Wednesday Sketch # 59

Congratulations "It a Boy!!!"
Good morning and here it is another Wednesday already and we are nearly at the end of July already. Well we are all back to reality in our household the school break is over the boys are back to school and they are into their normal routines, sports and of course homework. Guess who has come down with the flu and not feeling 100% this week yes me!!!
I've had a few questions from some of my Blogger's and Followers how I make my cards with a 3 D effect apart from the usual ways eg, Ribbons, Brads, Buttons, Charms and Flowers just to name a few. I'm finding there are more people that like a tactile feel to cards especially children and older people. Sometimes I use Glass Coat to coat images with if I want shine I use 1 coat if I want thickness I can use up to 6 coats. This really stands out but you do have to be very patient which I'm not sometimes LOL and wait for it to dry between layers. The photo that I have taken above shows how I used a frame to frame my image instead of putting layering behind the image.
  • Firstly I cut the Frame using Nestabilities Oval Scalloped edge and a smaller Classic Oval for the centre to cut out by.
  • I also cut Chip Board and my paper all at the same time through my Cuttlebug so that they were an exact fit on top of each other.
  • I glued the coloured paper to the Chip Board and coloured the edges with either the same colour of the paper with a Copic marker or a grey Copic depending what colour you a using and what colour Copics you have.
  • I cut my image using the same size Classic Oval as to which Scalloped Edge Oval I used. Then you don't see the edges of your image.
  • The frame was then mounted to my image using either Pop Dots, Ezy Dots or Squares or Double Sided Foam Tape depending what you have. I do cut the Pop Dots in half because you don't need the whole size dot. I've tried to take a photo so that you can see them.

I do hope this answers all those questions and helps.

What I love most is how the image and the buttons are a much brighter blue that the rest, it really makes the image pop right off the card! Terrific job!

Well, I am a sucker for baby cards! I looked at this one but thought I had better choose something other than baby this time...but I am glad you did. I always love stripes, checks and dots. So this is a perfect combo for me. Your pram is colors so sweetly...love those tiny buttons and the sweet boy and boy tag. Glad you were able to have a fun ski trip...unforgettable memories with your family!

Your baby card is beautiful.
Thank you for the comments you left on my donkey card for Michelle - the dies I used for the image and mat are Nellie Snellen Easter Round multi dies - I just love the shape of them, and they're my only die for using with images at the moment - so I use them all the time!
Love, Andrea xx
