Daffodil

Good morning and welcome to my blog.  The last Friday in August in New Zealand is Daffodil Day.  My son Liam was born on Daffodil Day Friday 27th August 1999 and tomorrow he turns sweet 16.

What is Daffodil Day?

The Cancer Society of New Zealand’s Daffodil Day symbolises hope for 1 in 3 New Zealanders affected by cancer. Since 1990, this iconic event has inspired people to come together and support the Cancer Society’s work. As well as providing an opportunity to raise awareness of cancer in New Zealand.
Donations go towards vital scientific research into the causes and treatment of all types of cancer, as well as providing a wide range of support services, education and awareness campaigns / programmes for people affected by cancer in our area. Whether it’s buying daffodils / donating to our street collectors, purchasing our merchandise, or making a donation by text / phone / online, every gift counts.

My card has been made with thoughts for one of my sisters in Australia who has Lung Cancer and is battling this terrible disease.
So when I saw this wonderful image and knew that Doodle Pantry were sponsoring us for the last week in August, it was perfect to celebrate Daffodil Day.   I think this image is stunning and in the download you receive an orange and yellow, yellow and yellow and a white and orange pre-coloured Daffodil images as well and the outline image which I coloured with copics.  It also contains
Sweet pea's which are one of my very favourite flowers with such wonderful perfumes.

Congratulations to last weeks winner and to our top 3 cards, great work everyone.

Amalia's Christmas Lights

Good morning and welcome to my blog.  Well here it is another wonderful Wednesday.  Winter is nearly over for us here in New Zealand and Spring is next month.  I thought that our days were getting longer and the weather was warming up but in the last few days we've had a cold spell, a hail storm that looked like snow, waking up to a nice white frost and the temperature was -2c but today it's an amazing sunny day so what more would I want at this time of year.  I know that a lot of you would be thinking what's she on about as your winters are so much colder.

Being Wednesday means we have another wonderful Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 and congratulations to our winner and to our Top 3 cards great work everyone.  This week we have another great sketch from Sally.

One Lily

Good morning followers, I can't believe how this week as past by so quickly.  It was only last week I was getting ready for Ryan's birthday and now another week has past by which I'll never get back again.

It's Wednesday which means it's another wonderful

Congratulations to Lisa Lynn our winner from last week and to our
Top 3 cards great work everyone.

This week we have another great sketch to show off those wonderful design papers.

Sketch #63

Here's my take on the sketch using this wonderful Lily image from
A Day For Daisies our sponsor this week.  I've just realised that I used Lilies last week as well that was a vase of them.

I'm dedicating my card this week to Lily my mother that past away 14 years ago a week before Ryan was born.  In those days she hated her name she thought it was so old fashioned and today so many little girls are being born and being named Lily it's such a pretty name, I so wish I had told my mum that when she was alive.

A sneak preview of the inside of my card.

Yes this week our sponsor is
