Good morning and welcome to my blog. The last Friday in August in New Zealand is Daffodil Day. My son Liam was born on Daffodil Day Friday 27th August 1999 and tomorrow he turns sweet 16.
What is Daffodil Day?
The Cancer Society of New Zealand’s Daffodil Day symbolises hope for 1 in 3 New Zealanders affected by cancer. Since 1990, this iconic event has inspired people to come together and support the Cancer Society’s work. As well as providing an opportunity to raise awareness of cancer in New Zealand.
Donations go towards vital scientific research into the causes and treatment of all types of cancer, as well as providing a wide range of support services, education and awareness campaigns / programmes for people affected by cancer in our area. Whether it’s buying daffodils / donating to our street collectors, purchasing our merchandise, or making a donation by text / phone / online, every gift counts.
My card has been made with thoughts for one of my sisters in Australia who has Lung Cancer and is battling this terrible disease.
So when I saw this wonderful image and knew that Doodle Pantry were sponsoring us for the last week in August, it was perfect to celebrate Daffodil Day. I think this image is stunning and in the download you receive an orange and yellow, yellow and yellow and a white and orange pre-coloured Daffodil images as well and the outline image which I coloured with copics. It also contains
Sweet pea's which are one of my very favourite flowers with such wonderful perfumes.
Congratulations to last weeks winner and to our top 3 cards, great work everyone.
