Good morning everyone. Firstly I would like to apologise for not being around to comment on blogs or participate in the last challenge, my card was made but I never got to post it.
On May 19th the night of the Royal Wedding my very fit and healthy brother who had just retired in April aged 65 was in his home with his partner and said he didn't feel the best and went to bed. Within half an hour he had, had a massive heart attack and was admitted to hospital. He was put into an induced coma in the critical care unit of Auckland Hospital. My sister flew in from Australia and we sat with him most days for a few hours at a time just talking trying not to get in the medical staff's way and also giving his partner a break. On the 27th May, he had gone downhill and there was nothing else they could do for him.
On Monday the 28th at 3pm his machines that were keeping him alive were turned off and he was surrounded by his family and friends. We had a lovely funeral with friends and family celebrating his life and hearing about stories he got up to with my brother when they were young. He was far too young to leave us, but they say the good die young.
RIP Brent.
Now I'm back to creating cards and family life, the day before my brothers funeral it was my son's school ball, it was a Millennial Maskerade Ball. I made the masks for both my son and his partner it was great creating them it took my mind off other things that were happening. Annaliese looked stunning and Ryan looked very handsome, they both had a great night.

Kathie I was so sad when reading about your brother. I know what it's like to spend every moment you can in the critical care department, my dear husband died a few years ago in similar circumstances at 65years of age. I wish you all the peace of God as you carry on with your lives. Thank you for joining in with our challenge here at The Ribbon Girl, and best of luck with your lovely butterfly card.
